Hi, friend. I’m Stina.
And I’m a work in progress.
This little spot on the internet is where I write about how that whole work-in-progress thing is coming along. This is a resting place. A safe place. A place to take deep breaths. To speak hope.
I’m also an academic by trade. I have a doctorate in theological studies, and I’m an associate professor at a liberal-arts university. I teach courses on ethics, the church, and the relationship between theology and culture. I have a special place in my heart for well-constructed academic sentences. And I love the weight of a well-worn academic book in my hands.
You will find some academic reflections here, but you’ll also find plain old unfancy sentences about Jesus, mercy, friendship, dogs, justice, mama life, hope, family, and grace.
I am a firm believer everyone is a theologian – not just academics and pastors. We all are living out our theology everyday, in the ordinary moments and the extraordinary ones. Many of my thoughts here are the back-porch conversations about how we do this living. Coffee mugs in hand. Sharing a comfy couch with friends – new and old.
And it’s my hope that we can be friends. You and me. I hope we can share a little of life together here as we chat about the lovely, hard, and stretching things in our journeys.
So, welcome to my back porch. (My apologies for the gigantic mosquitoes and the chilly winters. This is Minnesota!)
